Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society is organizing “ALWANE Third Regional Summit” which will be held in Bahrain in the period of 8 – 9 December under the patronage of H.E. Zayed R. Al Zayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
During the second board meeting that was held in its offices in Juffair, the Society reviewed objectives and agenda of the summit and looked into the topics that will be discussed in the sessions
On this occasion, Mr. Ahmad Al Saloom, Society Chairman commented, “this summit is a very important initiative towards enabling women economically and raising awareness in the community about women related issues. Such events are in line with the society’s goals which focus on enabling women and creating business growth opportunities.”
“The summit serves all women societies, business women, NGOs and SMEs. It offers a great opportunity for networking with other global.”
Mr. Ammar Awachi, the Society’s secretary and officer of ALWANE Bahrain said “ALWANE summit will invite participants from 17 different countries in the middle east and north Africa to contribute positively to Bahrain economy by spreading awareness among participants and demonstrating business facilities in the kingdom.”
“It will create a unique platform for women entrepreneurs to explore and exchange business ideas, experiences in order to support women.” He added.
Active Leaders for Women’s Advancement in the Near East (ALWANE) Bahrain committee works within Bahrain under Bahrain SMEs Development Society, to provide economic empowerment to women and increase the sustainability of their businesses.
The first AlWANE summit was held in Dubai, the second in Jordan and Bahrain will be hosting the third summit.
During the meeting, the Society reviewed its future plans and initiatives that aim to support women and SMEs in Bahrain.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmad Alsaloom, Mrs. Khulood Abdul Qadir, Mr. Nofal Al Kooheji, Mr. Ammar Awachi and Mr. Ahmed Khalfan.
