Bahrain SMEs Development Society Elects its Board of Directors

Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society Held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) to elect its board of directors for the years 2015-2017. The meeting was held at the society’s headquarters in Juffair on Monday 24th August 2015.

The AGM reviewed the financial statements for the past two years, which were duly approved and board members were elected in the presence of the Ministry of Social Development’s representative.

The new board of director comprises of; Mr. Ahmad Alsaloom – Chairman, Mr. Khalaf Hujair – Vice Chairman, with Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Rashid, Mr. Nofal AlKooheji, Mr. Adel AlSafar, Mrs. Khulood Abdul Qadir and Dr. Fadheela Hussain as members of the board. The AGM also elected Mr. Ammar Awachi – secretary, Mr. Ahmed Khalfan – treasurer, Mrs. Suhair Bukhammas – head of markets committee, and Dr. Fadheela Hussein – head of clinics and medical centers development committee.

On this occasion, the Chairman and new board members thanked their Honorary Chairman, Mr. Farouk Almoayed, for his continued support towards the Society and its initiatives.

The Bahrain SMEs Development Society was established in 2013 with the aim of supporting the economic vision of Bahrain 2030 which encourages youth in pioneering business and the development of private projects and to grow it in a business friendly environment. This is in order to be the catalyst for the growth of the economic sector.

The Society plans to sign a number of agreements and partnerships with government bodies and private sector entities in order to promote entrepreneurship among youth and foster a stimulating environment for sustainable growth.
